Upgrade Your Van Security: Door Sensor Installation for Fiat Ducato, Peugeot Boxer, and Citroën Jumper Vans

If you own a Fiat Ducato, Peugeot Boxer, or Citroën Jumper, we have something built specifically for your van! Standard sensors don’t install properly on split rear doors. So we designed a dedicated mounting system + magnetic door sensor bundle that installs using your van’s existing hardware — delivering a factory-grade result.

What the Door Sensor Does

The CarLock Door Sensor detects when the back doors of your vehicle are opened and alerts you through the CarLock app. The product consists of two magnetic components that work together to detect when a door is opened. When the two parts separate, the sensor recognizes the change and sends a real-time notification to CarLock.

The larger component also includes a small tamper button on the back side (the side attached to the vehicle). If this component is removed from the door, the button is triggered and a tamper alert is sent.

As long as the sensor remains within 20 feet (6 meters) of the CarLock main device (OBD or Basic) installed in your vehicle, it communicates reliably with it via Bluetooth.

Professional Installation — No Drilling

The vehicle-specific mount attaches directly to the existing rear door hinge bolts.

✔ Maximum stability and durability
✔ No drilling into body panels
✔ Clean, OEM-like installation
✔ Fully reversible

First, pair the Door Sensor with your existing CarLock device through the CarLock app. Once paired, place the Door Sensor into the vehicle-specific plastic mount, then attach the mount to the rear doors of your vehicle.

Let’s go through the installation step by step.

How to Pair the Door Sensor in the CarLock App

1. Tap “Dashboard” on the screen.
2. Tap “SmarLock” in the menu.

3. Tap “Manage.”
4. Toggle the CarLock sensors switch to “ON.”

5. Tap “Add”.
6. Scan the Door Sensor’s QR code (located on the Door Sensor accessory), and once the QR is recognized, tap “Add.”
After that, rename the door sensor by your choice by tapping on the number on the screen shown in the app, and then finish the test.
*Alternative pairing option: If the sensor is already taped, you can easily pair it through the CarLock app by selecting “Detect nearby sensors.” Then separate and reattach the two parts of the sensor until it’s detected.

7. If you want to delete, test, or rename the Door Sensor, tap “Manage.”
8. Choose one of the actions to perform, such as Rename, Test, or Delete (if you delete the door sensor from the app, it will need to be paired again).

Install the Door sensor on your vehicle’s rear door

1. Place the Door Sensor accessory into the dedicated holes on the plastic mount. Make sure the “C” logo on the larger component is facing down when sliding it into the plastic mount.

2. Slightly unscrew rear door hinge bolts with Torx.

3. Slide the smaller plastic mount under the screws on the left side of the door, and the larger plastic mount under the screws on the right side of the door.

Make sure the gap between the two parts of the Door Sensor is no wider than 1 cm (0.4 in).

4. Use a Torx tool to tighten the rear door hinge bolts back into place. Congratulations, you’re done with installation!

FAQ

Do both components need to be installed together when the door is closed?
Preferably yes. For the most reliable detection, the two components should be installed as close together as possible when the door is closed. However, a gap of up to 1 cm (0.4 in) between them is acceptable.

How long does the Door Sensor battery last?
The Door Sensor battery lasts approximately 1 year and is easily replaceable with a new CR2477 battery.

Is the Door Sensor waterproof?
No, the Door Sensor is not waterproof, but a little rain would not damage it.

Can I have more than one Door Sensor linked to my CarLock account?
Yes, you can. There is no limit to the number of sensors in your CarLock app. However, we recommend renaming the sensors based on their location so you know exactly which sensor the door sensor alert is coming from.

What is the maximum distance between the car (with the CarLock device installed) and the Door Sensor for it to communicate with the CarLock device and send detection notifications?
The CarLock DoorSensor communicates directly with your CarLock device as long as it is within Bluetooth range (about 20 feet/6 meters).

Does the Door Sensor have a pause period between detections?
Yes. The pause period is about 1 minute. This means that if the ‘’door opened’’ is detected twice within 1 minute, you will only receive 1 notification.
